Behaviour and Discipline in Schools

I feel a mixture feeling, these words like statutory authority, confiscate, impose.. sound quite heavy and serious. Also it reminds me that hierarchy exists in schools.

I know people who break the rules or harm others face the consequences. However, first of all, they are underage and vulnerable, and second, the information is not specific enough like how, when, who, what and why.

A punishment must be proportionate

All school staff are aware that a punishment and discipline must be proportionate, However, the boundary of ‘proportion of a punishment and discipline could be very vague. Who can decide whether the action is taken appropriately? Education and rules in schools are not designed for individual pupils and individual pupils are told that they must follow the same education and rules, otherwise, they will see the consequence.

Every action should be moderate and the moderate actions should be taken at the right time. I believe when teachers are already sensible and give positive effects on students, students will naturally absorb the effect. I know schools and its curriculum and rules cannot differ depending on every individual. I personally hope that good teachers exist in many schools who observe students first and communicate in a democratic way. After this, it is not late to take an action following the school policy.
